Great alternative to other non-native vines like wisteria or honeysuckle. Hoping to get some passionfruits as well this fall!

I’m so jealous! I have a bunch of vines that I started to propagate in February. Most started to really take off this last month or so, but no flowers. Hopefully next year!

Got a similar idea to you, growing up the side of my house! Yeah mine didnt really get going until June, I got them when they were already a year old so hopefully next year! I will say yours look a bit more leggy than mine so they might benefit from more sun, if possible.

I am on a condo balcony fighting for more sun with everything else, and they have been deemed 2nd tier in the sun hierarchy. I should be moving at the end of the year (no idea where to) and one thing high on the wish list is backyard space.

I used to have a peach and fig tree, but I had to off load them on the in-laws. The MIL killed the fig, but the peach is still going strong! It was getting super lopsided on the balcony. No amount of rotating was going to stop it. One day…

That’s a carpenter bee! I have these same flowers and same bees in my yard. I love them! If it’s got a shiny butt, it’s a carpenter bee. Fuzzy butt is a bumble bee. Are you from the southeast US by chance?

Yes I am! Ok, thanks for the note that makes sense because I’ve seen bees that look like them making holes in decks haha. Ill edit my post.

Have you gotten any fruit yet? I have a few, but they aren’t ripe yet. I’m excited to spread the seeds.

I love how these beauties look like some combination of a reverse satellite dish with Scavenger’s Reign / LEO-style flora and fauna.

Yeah the flowers are absolutely wild! They only bloom for a day or two, but there are a lot of them and they’re stunningly pretty.
