Joey nailing it yet again. Landscaping industry is in shambles.
I can’t manage to watch past his smiling midleage face announcing about being fired from a botanical garden for:
sleazing on young women [0:18]
lol hopefully you know it’s meant to be satirical. But yeah it’s definitely a particular style of humor that might not be for everyone.
It crossed my mind (after writting the comment), but how can you be sure of that? I mean, is it an assumption or you could share a link to back this claim?
It’s pretty obvious if you watch any of his other content. He plays characters to educate people about botany. This one is lampooning the landscaping industry.
Usually he plays a gruff Chicago gangster so I’m kind of amazed with his range. This is a new character or at least I’ve never seen it before.
Also I mean come on who would describe their own behavior that way? It’s clearly a critique of powerful men and the way they relate to women.
I’m not sure what link could prove this unless you want to see an earlier one where he sounds like a totally different person.
Ok, ok thank you for your input. I will definately check this channel then!
Hey @libertylizard, consider reposting to https://lemmy.world/c/crimepays
Looks like you already got me covered. Didn’t know about that one so thanks!
Yeah I keep meaning to put together an RSS feed autopost bot thingy but ehh. lazy.
Want to be a mod?
Sure I could.
I usually prefer a hands off mod approach where I only remove stuff that is clearly rule breaking. As long as you’re on board with that. Although these smaller coms rarely need much if any moderation.
Did they fix the issue with modding external communities? I remember there was some problem with that at some point.
One of the things that truly infuriated me upon this kind of mindset was when my late mom (and certified master gardener) replaced our traditional grass, backyard lawn with a clover lawn, and then after she’d passed, my stepdad immediately deciding to tear it all down because it wasn’t ‘lawnmower-friendly.’ (meaning in his mind, it might kick up hidden rocks, etc)
IIRC though, the whole point of the clover lawn was that it never needed mowing, and was a far more natural-arrangement of plant species in meadows, etc.
Dammit… the landslide of stoopid shit that we naked apes normalise ourselves upon is just… head-shaking, at times.
