When we bought our place there was a (very steep) accessibility ramp to the front door, I later found the wood from the original steps. I saved the extra wood from the ramp because I knew I would need partially rotted treated 2x6s someday. Today was that day.
My daughter’s dog is about 14, and she has a broken leg last year. Since then she has had issues getting into my Tacoma, and now my wife’s SUV.
I used the left over lumber and made a step for her. I have some 2x8s that were attached to the stringers, so I will probably make another of these. Put the lower one next to my wife’s SUV, and the taller one by mine.
Update: Once she stopped being wary of the step, she go in with no issue.

doing kindnesses for dogs, especially senior dogs, is so heartwarming <3
This dog is so spoiled. Last year when she broke her leg, we got a big cart and I pulled it behind me so she would not miss our morning hike.

AWWW! That’s so sweet!!
I have that cart. I tied it to the back of my mower to move firewood around.
Not just any cart, either. The best cart.
Nothing warms my heart more than loving a dog
Damn,that dog has aged gracefully.
We are not 100% on her age, but we adopted her in July 2016. And we were told she was 3-4 then. The person we adopted her from had rescued her from his neighbor, who supposedly has her papers, but I have never seen them.
