Billion is used as 1 million million in the UK. They use milliard for what we call a billion. Expand your experiences.
Just a bridgeman doing his thing.

Some countries use the long scale and thats a valid number. 1 billion for them is 1 million million, not one thousand million. It’s the same in spanish.
Colombia*
Not really. It’s one of the trek ones. Fuel if I had to guess off memory and looking at pics.
I’m a daily downhill biker and i’ve only encountered that on cheap bikes. Anything over $1000 or so has the newest standards which don’t often change.
I agree with all the ebike stuff. even though i don’t ride one i have friend that do and make similar complaints.
Biking is not hard on your body at all. Plenty of people cycle well into their 70s.
That’s a very United States centric outlook. Most other Americans on the continent (north and south) also consider themselves Americans. Here in Colombia they call those of us from the US “estadounidenses” which basically translate as unitedstates-ian.
Who are you going to believe your lying eyes or your buddy teft? The eugenics wars totally happened. Dolly the sheep was one of the first soldiers.
We’re less than 3 weeks away from the Bell Riots if we’re in the Prime Universe.
Maybe in the US. Other places not so much.
hard as hell to get into as crew.
I would assume it is the same as any merchant mariner. Lots of licensing and training.
The article I read said they don’t currently have an efficient way to convert it back to electrical energy. Current tech is 30% efficiency.
Interesting idea but i think we’re many years from this being commercially viable.
Storing heat energy seems like an incredibly inefficient way to store energy.
Pedal power is **amazing** for things like charging phones or powering small devices and computers though, or for something completely meta: Charging up a eBike or electric scooter (120W), to then use without pedalling later.
Skip that step and get a chainless digital drive bike. Same concept but you charge it as you ride.
Here is a video Dr. Becky did on the Hubble tension recently that might explain it a little better for you. Physics probably isn’t wrong, it’s more likely that astrophysicists just got some measurements wrong on the cosmic distance ladder. A recent paper seems to get rid of the hubble tension completely.
I think you misread something. Can you link what study you’re talking about?
Buy an 18650 based pocket flashlight and a flashlight handlebar mount.
This is what i use for downhill riding at night.

If you’re aware of milliard why are you complaining about someone using the long scale? It’s a perfectly valid way to describe big numbers. It was probably a translation error from someone whose mother tongue uses the long scale. You’re the one who called it idiotic, not me.
