Great! My image is a pretty small castanea sativa (sweet chestnut), while the chinquapin is listed as castanea pumila (dwarf chestnut). So for me (as a non-biologist) that’s the same! 👑
Perfect - Castanea sativa 🎉
Correct answer! 🏆
It’s not a nut in the botanical sense but if we stay strictly within those boundaries there’s not enough variety. ;)
Ding ding ding - that was fast.
Indeed, it’s this delicious little strawberry. And for those who are confused: a strawberry is botanically not a berry but a ‘aggregate accessory fruit’. I know it’s controversial but in many (not all) places, the little seeds of the strawberry are referred to as nuts.
Not a cashew. ;)
I can only speak for Germany but here solar panels have dropped in price dramatically and you sometimes get new 400W panels for 60€…
I wouldn’t want to buy a surprise box for 35€ without warranty and detailed information regarding technical specification and duration of usage.
If you’re serious, I’d say language is optional in the first step - at least in Germany. If you manage to find a job here, you may get a visum (Aufenthaltstitel) for many years. A colleague of mine (IT) came here from India around 15 years ago and still only has rudimental German skills. If you want to integrate well with locals, it’s helpful of course and you also need a certificate to proof your German for permanent citizenship. But for coming here a job is far more helpful than language skills. And in many bigger or international companies English is the norm anyways.
Looks beautiful, hope you had good weather!
I don’t know if these filters for permanent installation have some techology to prevent this, but the smaller jug-style water filters increase bacteria growth if you don’t regularly exchange them. I think for a part with such a huge internal surface that is permanently wet, this is really hard to avoid unless it has a special desinfection mechanism.

For short-term use while hiking I use water filters by Sawyer or Katadyn so far without problems. But I rinse them with chlorine and vinegar before I put them away for storage.
