Imagine if you could go to the store with reusable containers and fill them up with foodstuffs. I eat a lot of beans, I could just fill up a bunch of sacks or cannisters at a dispensary rather than buy all these cans and bags. Need soap? Just go to the soap dispensary and fill up a jug. Etc. Etc.

Environmentally speaking, people should probably learn to sew and not be overly reliant on unsustainable mechanisation.

I’ve seen some interesting ideas from Low Tech Magazine - one that I found particularly interesting was flywheel energy storage. Take a heavy disk or drum and spin it up with excess electricity, then discharge the spin from the battery when the Sun goes down.
We call it expensive, which is a subtlety that the title of this meme poopooing on “consumerism” is missing out on.

Yeah this is lowkey a boogie meme - the majority of people don’t live in a work situation that allows for day naps!
That’s because we destroyed the primitive communal family to create the nuclear family. Humans throughout most of history would raise their children collectively, rather than all the responsibility just being dumped directly onto the parents.
And they wonder why we don’t have kids lol
Hamas is embedded in the community. As with all guerillas they move amongst the people like fish swim in the sea, as Mao would say. It’s an armed community resistance front, not a parasite, because they have the support of the community itself. Hamas is what community prepping actually looks like in practice because they prep for the survival of the community, rather than for any individual.
Not that Hamas are literally preppers, obviously, but they prove a good framework for preppers in terms of preparing for disaster. Dig tunnels that the government doesn’t know about, stockpile food and weapons and fuel in the tunnels, be prepared to fight and die as a collective, build good relations with the community above the tunnels, etc.
I did not mean to imply that consumers should have a choice. They can go to the refillable bean dispensary and they’ll like it.
