What is the weather like where you are? It would be brutal to have to use this on a regular basis in cold, rainy, or even very hot weather.

Even a small car would give you so much more capability and you could use it no matter the weather.

The only people doing this are loaded with enough cash or assets to not have to take out a mortgage. They’ll be fine.

You can’t get a new mortgage without insurance

Anyone going without home insurance is paying cash for their house. No bank would give someone a mortgage on a property that could turn to ashes with no insurance.
