Cherry laurel is listed on a so called grey list. It is a plant that is very popular because it is very robust and evergreen. But it is also invasive: birds eat the berries and can spread the seed. So the shrub can mess up ecosystems and it is difficult to get rid of.
I also think, this is a cherry laurel. They are forbidden to be planted in Germany.
