The thing with 99% leverage sadly has only a chance of 1% to happen while the 1% leverage thing you can just make happen. And if you make the 1% thing happen in more people the votes for the 99% thing start to go up as well. And eating less meat does have an impact. For years now i read headlines that year n had less pig meat being eaten in total than year n-1 (pork being the focus as my country afaik does not have a big beef industry so it’s not as relevant to report about it)

We have very little influence on the industry as a whole but if you buy less meat, the meat industry actually becomes smaller over time. The alternative products also become more and more. Super markets over here all have a vegan shelf at least and there’s more vegan only restaurants opening up in my city that even made my meat eater colleagues go there to eat from time to time.

You post a picture of a bike that’s as wide as its handlebar, which is not wider than a regular bike which also has to have enough space to fit its handlebars through and claim it is too wide for a bike lane. Also visible on this picture is a backpack, a grocery bag and a lot of empty space in the cargo-hold and claim it only has space for the backpack and a grocery bag. I feel it is not worth it to argue with you at all since you don’t seem to argue in good faith. Disappointing

I think you can do math about the rate at which you discover new species when pulling out random samples of fish in comparison to the amount of fish species you already found: if you have very few of the species discovered a random sample of fish would yield almost only new species. If you have a high amount discovered you’d get almost no new fish in your sample. Idk the formulas used tho sorry. I saw a video of this with moths species at some point, i think by Matt Parker. There was also recently a numberphile video about catching Pokémon that can probably extrapolated into making a formula for that stuff.
