Really good post, I know you’re not an expert but this was well written! This is literally my brain on steroids. My city just decided to cancel a project that would remove 300 old growth trees and a tree older than the United States, for one power line to one house in the boonies. Apparently power companies can just remove trees at will if they are potential risk to the power infrastructure. I’ve been trying to live as eco minimalist when I can afford it but most cheap stuff is made unsustainable and just to put cash from my wallet into theirs. I’ve been gardening but this year I didn’t get much veggies that went towards food sadly. I don’t own a car, when I did it was electric. If the sustainable choice wasn’t gatekept it wouldn’t be capitalism, it thrives on depriving people of the resources to sustain themselves.
