Renewable energy will overtake coal to become the world’s top source of electricity “by 2026 at the latest”, according to new forecasts from the International Energy Agency (IEA).
The irony is that even with US pullback, global renewable capacity is growing at 2x the rate predicted just 5 years ago, so we’re litterally watching the biggest energy transition in human history happen in real-time while we argue about whether to participate.
Yeah, I’m glad we are dumping our money into dying industries like coal, and pollution heavy industries like oil.
If there is anything left of the US when Trump is done it’s going to take generations to 180° the country out of its death march. I’m guessing we’ll have destroyed the earth to the point we need to go full Wall-E by that point.
Phew, so glad the US is abandoning that industry. If its already at the top next year, then it has nowhere to go but down!
/s obviously as I watch the future pass us by.
