GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel has launched the AL663 (COMMS-26) expedition aboard RV Alkor to study how hundreds of thousands of tonnes of legacy munitions on the Baltic seabed affect marine ecosystems, with partners from Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Denmark, and Finland contributing data and expertise.
