Looking for a cheapish pen ( I don’t want to loose a pricey pen) for uni next year. I need a ballpoint pen for maths (working out) and a gel pen for theory notes. Ideally they both have refills and write nicely.

Fisher are solid and reliable. They’re not fanch or “refined”. But, they always work, are cheap, and sold everywhere.
Not exactly what you asked for, but I’m very happy with my TWSBI Eco x-fine refillable fountain pen. Writes well on random paper, doesn’t leak / leave my fingers inky. I lost my first one and tried a Scrikss and it was horrible (blurry line, leaky), so I ordered another TWSBI.
