I recently got one of these scrubbers for cleaning grills and want to share how great it is.

  • Made by Destin from the Smarter Every Day YT channel and his business partner.
  • Almost entirely manufactured in the US (something we sorely need more of today)
  • The head can be taken apart and replaced if you ever need to (but really, that’s going to be a long time I think…)
  • Replaces those crappy home store grill cleaners that fall apart and don’t last 1 year
  • It’s $60 USD or so but I think worth it

    That chain mail on the head is absolutely going to wear out and need replacement.

    How the hell can you claim the metal bristle ones wear out after only a year but this untested $60 one will last longer?

    I’m going to wear out the head in 2 years and they’ll want $30+shipping to replace it.

      He highlights in his video that the bristles of those wire brushes cause emergency surgery when mistakenly ingested as brushing the grill with them has shown that they can break off. This is part of the “replace every year” and is something those cheaper brushes even sticker onto their handles.

      He didn’t claim they wear out in a year, the brushes themselves do. Please try watching both parts of the video. Even if you disagree, it’s interesting and highlights a problem with losing knowledge in the tooling industry.

          And the universe would eventually succumb to entropy, so what? We’re talking about stainless. Which is likely harder than your grill. Which would get used what, like a dozen or so times a year?

          I bet that chain would outlast me. For sure my grill. Definitely a wire brush. And last a year, easy.
