I have no idea what kind of pepper plant it is, my neighbor gifted it to me after I helped her take out her recycling and she said she can’t remember what kind it was lol
I’m very excited to have another shot at successful fruiting. Last year my cherry tomato got blown off the ledge taking with it the single fruiting blossom and never fully recovered, and my strawberries all got eaten by bugs and then after keeping it alive through winter I accidentally gave it transplant shock and then overwatered back to back (it rained for like 3 days so I couldn’t get it to dry out 🥹)
I’ve had to be hypervigilant of the wind, Including getting soaked just now moving my plants off the ledge as a severe thunderstorm rolled through (our 8 billionth one the past week or two 😅). I’m on the third floor and close to an airport so we’ve got decent elevation and not much around to break the wind lol
I’ve never heard of nadapenos! what are they like?
They’re jalapeno peppers bred to have zero of the spice. They really do taste like a green bell pepper with that jalapeno grassiness mixed in.
It doesn’t look like I’ll get too many due to the heatwaves almost killing everything but I’m going next year to do nadapeno poppers for the wife since she can’t handle spice
Interesting! Myabe I’ll try growing some at some point. I love spicy and the taste of jalapeños, but its a mild rosacea trigger for me so I’ve been cutting back unless its a neccisary part of a dish (I’ll give up Lao Gan ma fried chili in oil, or Korean Thanksgiving with family friends when I’m dead)
Yeah the heat waves have been a challenge, especially for my friend Hannah who gets like full sun all day on her balcony. But on the upside my basil survived when hers died, so I’m very excited I can give her back baby basil plants from the one she gifted me early in the season 🥹
