After stumbling across a blog post about how big brand kitchen products and appliances are mostly just hollow shells with little to no integrity, I found that same blogger/journalist has a robust list of brands that haven’t gone the way of capital sell-outs that goes way beyond kitchen utensils.
It’s worth taking a look at the list as well as the articles. The articles are conversational, but with lots of links to the source material.


Things may have changed since, but our CutCo knives are still great 30+ years later.
Specifically the “Butter Knife” is a game changer. I still use it daily for all sorts of things. And I’ve looked for comparable knives as gifts. Nobody else makes anything like it. I specifically bought 2 through their website for friends.

Still lives in my drawer to be used the past 25 years. If only it somehow also had a fork to get a pickle out of a jar without messing up its ability to do everything else.
