Signs in shopping areas should be limited to one sign as an identifier of the store. Logos should be allowed, but size should be limited–small and near the front door. No advertising of products, no window signs screaming “SALE!”, etc. No fucking video signs, or animated signs of any type–no flashing lights, or physically animated signs.
We need signs to find the store, that’s the purpose to which they should be limited.
Lets move to the KCD or BoTW model, 1 sign above the door showing what you sell / are. No words. Just 1 simple image.
A supermarket near me has a video sign with a motion detector that says “Hey! [something something]” whenever someone walks by. Tempts me to sabotage it every time.
A sticker on the camera/motion sensor might work nicely.
