Hi, I am just wanting some recommendations on a basic microinverter (with safety cutoff protections built in). Essentially, ‘balcony solar.’

Just to make sure I am hooking things up properly/safely, lets assume I’m beginner experience level. I have a basic understanding of the general concepts, but not much real world experience. The two panels that I have are 100 watt panels. I’ve attached a picture for reference:

You require headroom on your inverters as 100W panels can deliver about 130 or even more Watts of power. The issue is that during cloudy days when the sun shines through a gap in the clouds while also illuminating via the diffracted light via the clouds you could get 2 suns worth of radiation. Practically less than that, though.

Good to know about the headroom. Do you have any specific brands or models I should look at?

That module is really low powered for modern microinverters. I only know about a small subsection of the market, but I don’t know any that will work with voltages that low.

Edit: you could probably run them in series to get a more usable voltage. 200w combined and 48Voc on a single DC input will be easier to find.
