So I’ve been managing my pool for about a month now. It’s been a lot of learning and record keeping and it’s been kinda confusing at times.
Do folks have a favorite pool management app? Or how do you keep track of all of the chemicals, dosing, and recurring maintenance, and other tasks?
I found these apps and was curious if folks had any thoughts about them.
- Pool Math: https://www.troublefreepool.com/calc.html
- Pooli: https://pooli.app/
- Orenda: https://www.orendatech.com/pool-dosing-calculator
- FlowBeacon: https://flowbeacon.app/
- Pool Care: https://www.swimuniversity.com/pool-chemical-calcuator-apps/
- Nimbus Pool Doctor: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/pool-doctor/id375459618
The only one I’ve really tried is Pool Math, but… it gave me a really bad impression because you can only log 1 test. I couldn’t even properly evaluate the app because it’s so limited. I uninstalled it pretty much immediately after running into that.

I can imagine, shame that most people I know won’t swim in the sea as it’s within walking distance. They have all lived here their whole lives while I grew up inland and could only swim in the sea on holidays before moving here.
The only pool we know of is one we rarely get access to, sometimes once a year but for a few years now not even that. We would use it but I think the guy who owns it (or his wife) doesn’t like us using it, even though his son is the one asking.
Maybe I could get an inflatable spa/hot tub instead, far less water to maintain and instructions seem to largely just be filter and chlorine but replace the water after a while. Not so bad when it’s less than £1 of water in the entire tub but for a pool it could easily be significantly more, not to mention more wasteful.
