    Well yeah, wasn’t gonna mention it but the first painting kind of glorifies a fascist soldier, unless there’s something I can’t see. Is there satire? A reclamation of power in some way? Does Lucas the writer think stormtroopers should be cool?

    To be honest, I think the tradition of culture jamming is fantastic, I used to subscribe to adbusters, and I think if you pull corporate IP for your art, it should go hard.

      Could be as simple as the artist enjoyed Star Wars as a kid? I don’t know them personally I just don’t think it is a homage to a fascist ideology. Unlikely a mural on Leake Street is covertly sponsored by Disney executives

        No I don’t mean what the artist intended, just what the art is doing.

        Stormtroopers look cool. Stormtroopers are fascist, to G. Lucas and in the story. It’s a skilled painting of a cool looking fascist. You asked!
