I tried meshcore here in my city of 45k pops and got nothing yet. On meshtastic i get ~10-13 nodes.
With that said, I’m definitely not against meshcore anymore because of the new meshcore-open app which is properly open source. Before, I absolutely would not touch it.

I am also not in a position to put up a repeater as my yard is incredibly shaded and solar nodes can’t hold a charge here.
Oh yeah first time i did it, nothing at all. It took a couple of months for people to get some nodes in.
I will be keeping an eye on the meshcore map to see if any nodes pop up in my city. Because currently, the closest ones list as being something like 50 miles away, but they also list as being 3 months old. So if I start to see indications of closer nodes or newer nodes, I will definitely try it again.
