    Just fyi this has been posted earlier if anyone needs the url and direct link. As others had said mesh is a great start into ham and other ways of communication.

    Meshtastic ain’t replacing the internet if it goes down but it’s fun and it gets more useful with the number of people showing up. If we could use wider channels at lower frequency with higher power, in order to get the average bandwidth to 56K modem, we could really do some internet-like replacement.

      We don’t need meshtastic to replace the internet. We need it to coordinate with our neighbors and allies.

        Fact. I was using the flyer’s framing. Still, a bit more bandwidth and range could make this system a lot more useful. Speaking of range, I ordered some 1W nodes from RAK that should be here in a couple of days. They won’t be as useful as they can be for 2-way comm without the counterparts also being 1W but I’m curious to see how much further I can tx from my balcony. :D

      I’m just waiting for BBS2 to get going on it, I sadly was a tad too young to get in on its prime, but maybe I can catch the train this time lmao
